A Day in My Studio: Getting Ready for a Workshop on Quilting

Take a look at my preparations for a quilting workshop. Get a feel for the Nashville studio of Sandra Lee Design by perusing its furnishings, layout, and energy.

Workshops are meticulously organized events. This is my studio routine just before class starts.
1. Obtaining Materials
Everything students need to begin is right there: pre-cut fabric, thread, tools, machines, and kits.
2. Making a Lesson Plan
Locate a happy medium between classroom instruction and real-world application. I want each student to go away from my class with not only new information but also a finished project.
3. Laying the Groundwork
Discussion, inspiration, and creative thinking are all encouraged in the studio. Music, wall quilts, and brightly lit spaces create the atmosphere.

Why This Is Important
In my classroom, students do more than just sew; they become members of a creative community. sewing.
